Thousands Of Teddy Bears Leap To Their Deaths In Calgary

Actually this was a charity drive by Petro Canada.

Over 23,000 Teddy bears were donated. Not bad considering attendance for the game was 16,000.

This was on Sunday the 12th of December, and the next day, players form the Calgary Hitmen went to a Fueling Station where 50 agencies picked up some stuffed Ursine-Canadians. Some players also went to the Alberta Children's HOspital to deliver some bears as well.

Finally, a Hockey Team from Calgary that San Jose Sharks fans can love!

What The Heck?

What a difference a day makes...

Rain? Seriously?!? In May? Does the Weather Man know that this is May, and we are not supposed to get rain? Afternoon in the Salinas Valley, May 26th, 2010

24 little hours later...

Afternoon of May 27th, 2010. Zmudowski State Beach. Named after Mary Zmudowski, a Watsonville School teacher who donated the land for the Beach and the State Park. Must be nice to be a teacher I guess.

A view from the Beach of the mouth of the Salinas Valley, with Mount Toro in the center.

People on TV (or the Movies) Who Look Like People we Know

Have you ever been watching TV, or a DVD, and said to yourself, "Hey! that guy looks like that guy that I know!" Okay, probably not. But since we watch way too much TV, it is almost a daily occurance in the Mendoza house. And so we were inspired to begin a new feature here at the Mendoza Blog that we call

People On TV Who Look Like People We Know!

Max Martini is an Actor who was in the TV Show, "The Unit," as well as in the movie "Contact." Here he is in an episode of "The Unit," called "Report by Exception." Some of you may note the incredible resemblence to a certain auburn haired, Canadian automotive expert. An incredible coincidence? Or does he have an acting career he never told us about? You be the judge!
